ProtegPen is a small utility that functions to protect a pen drive from writing, thus preventing files and other types of data, such as viruses, from being stored on the pen drive without your knowledge and authorization.

Its operation is very simple, and with a very small size, it becomes a useful protection tool that can be carried on your pen drive taking up very little space.

To block your pen from writing, just run this utility, which requires no installation, select the drive corresponding to your pen drive (if it doesn’t appear, click on Update), and then click on Block. If no problems occur, a message will appear informing you that the operation was completed successfully.

To unblock the drive, the process is the same, but instead of Block, click on Unblock.

With this utility, you can also check if any drive has viruses. For a virus to auto-execute, there must be a file named "autorun.inf" at the root of the drive.

This application can be an asset to our daily lives, as it allows for better control of viruses in a simple and quick way. Thus, we will contribute to a "cleaner" computing environment, that is, virus-free.

For this application to work, the drive must only be formatted in NTFS.
