Description

PCSX2 is an open-source PlayStation 2 emulator that allows you to run games from Sony's console directly on your computer. The project maintains a high level of compatibility with a vast library of PS2 titles, including popular games and lesser-known productions, allowing you to use original physical media or previously extracted disk images.

The emulator offers advanced video features, such as internal resolution scaling, anti-aliasing, texture filtering, and aspect ratio adjustments, providing superior graphical quality compared to the original hardware without altering the logic of the games. It supports different graphic APIs, allowing for better use of available hardware and fine-tuning of performance based on system configuration.

PCSX2 offers complete control customization, including mapping for keyboard, mouse, and various gamepad models. Save states are also available, allowing you to record your progress at any moment, in addition to the traditional virtual memory card system, compatible with the original functioning of the console.

Operation requires a PlayStation 2 BIOS, which must be legally extracted from your own console. This requirement ensures greater fidelity in emulation and correct compatibility with games, respecting the technical aspects of the original hardware.

Additional features include support for cheat codes, gameplay recording, screenshots, and debugging tools aimed at testing and development. The emulator also allows for advanced audio adjustments, synchronization, execution speed, and compatibility per game, enabling you to adapt its functioning according to each title being played.
