Cardpeek is a tool for reading the content of smart cards compatible with the ISO7816 standard. It offers a graphical interface based on GTK, which displays the card data in a hierarchical structure. The software also allows extensibility through the LUA scripting language, making it possible to customize or add new functionalities as needed. The main purpose of Cardpeek is to inform smart card owners about the types of personal information stored on these devices. The program can read various types of cards, such as: - EMV bank cards ("chip and PIN"), including VISA, MasterCard, CB, and others; - Contactless payment cards, such as PayWave (VISA) and PayPass (MasterCard); - Electronic/biometric passports with embedded chips; - Calypso transport cards, such as Navigo (Paris), MOBIB (Brussels), RavKav (Israel), and VIVA (Lisbon); - GSM SIM cards (without the USIM data from recent versions); - French health cards Vitale 2; - Moneo, the French electronic payment card; - Tachograph cards for drivers; - OpenPGP cards (in beta phase). Cardpeek also has limited support for reading some cards, such as certain Mifare Classic cards and the Thalys card. Although some types of cards are not yet compatible or require additional development, Cardpeek can be easily modified to meet specific needs, using LUA scripts.
