Check a file’s SHA-256 hash
Choose a file to calculate its SHA-256. The file is processed in your browser and is not sent to the server.
How to check the result
- Obtain the SHA-256 from the developer’s official page and confirm it refers to the same file and version.
- Choose the file and compare all 64 characters. Uppercase and lowercase letters represent the same hexadecimal value.
- If the values differ, check the file and version. Do not run the file until the difference is understood.
A match does not prove that software is safe. The comparison depends on obtaining the hash from a trustworthy source.
