simplewall 3.8.7

simplewall is a free and open-source tool developed to configure the Windows Filtering Platform (WFP), a framework of APIs and services in the Windows system that allows management of network activity on a computer. Unlike an interface for the Windows Firewall, simplewall is an independent application that uses WFP to control which applications and services can access the internet, providing a lightweight and customizable alternative for those who wish to manage network traffic precisely.

Main Features

• Network Access Control: Allows blocking or authorizing internet access for specific applications or services.
• Malware and Telemetry Blocking: Includes internal lists that help block connections related to malware and telemetry data, enhancing user privacy.
• Custom Rules: Offers the ability to create specific rules to block ports or IP addresses.
• Network Monitoring: Can log allowed or dropped packets, enabling the user to track network activity.
• Simple Interface: Features an intuitive design, making it accessible even for less technical users.

Relation to Windows Firewall

simplewall does not interact directly with the Windows Firewall and operates independently using WFP. This means it can be used alongside the native firewall without the need to disable it. By default, simplewall blocks all network connections, requiring users to manually configure permissions for the applications they wish to allow.
